Intra-arterial Infusion of Immunotherapy
Intra-arterial infusion of immunotherapy uses the tumor’s arteries to deliver higher medication amounts at a lower dose directly to the tumor. This is especially helpful for treating certain tumors such as those in the liver.
Yervoy, Opdivo and Keytruda (immune checkpoint inhibitors) are combined with an oil-based substance for slow release and can be infused directly into the artery of the tumor.
